Invisible Audience Presents: Masontown
Join us for a special concert in the all new Invisible Audience presents concert series featuring Masontown, an Colorado band whose sound is an exciting take on the American acoustic tradition. At once fresh and familiar, the group unites the sounds of bluegrass, old-time, folk, and new acoustic music into a sonic melting pot that hearkens back to our deep musical traditions while remaining defiantly modern in conception. Echoes of the poignant exploration of the Matt Flinner Trio blend with the fierce drive of Bill Monroe and the plaintive song-craft of Cahalen Morrison and Eli West. Its no surprise that the members of Masontown have shared the stage with many of these musical icons that their sound evokes.
A lauded fiddle champion and classical violinist. A veteran bluegrass mandolin player and composer. One of Colorados jazz guitar greats reborn as a flatpicking sensation. An upright bassist with roots running deep in the classical and jazz traditions. These are the individual elements that come together to create Masontown.
The listening halls and dance floors of Colorado have already begun to hail the arrival of this new force in the acoustic music community. Masontown is a band on the move, driven to delight the ears, touch the hearts, and move the feet of generations of music lovers in Colorado and far beyond.
Beer, wine and other refreshments available for purchase.
About Invisible Audience:
In an effort to increase access to great music from Colorado and beyond, Invisible Audience is a new initiative at the Center for Musical Art (CMA) that brings together the arts of recording and performance. Led by recording engineer and music enthusiast, Duncan Taylor, Invisible Audience will launch recording sessions featuring talented musicians from across the nation. Equipped with both high-quality recording equipment and video capability, these intimate performances will be released on CMAs YouTube channel for all to enjoy.
A new partnership with Boulder-based audio company, PS Audio, will elevate Invisible Audience through utilization of the industrys highest quality audio equipment to create high-resolution recordings. Artists will be able to utilize these quality recordings for their own marketing purposes while simultaneously providing the public with access to fantastic music.
Following recording sessions, select musicians will hold an additional, ticketed performance in CMAs Founders Hall. This branch of the initiative- Invisible Audience Presents- is a new take on CMAs community-centric Kaleidoscope series. Curated by Duncan Taylor, Invisible Audience Presents promises to bring exciting new talent to the CMA stage, to promote local musicians, and to nurture the live music scene in East Boulder County.
We are thrilled to be establishing new partnerships and investing in new, innovative programming here at CMF & CMA! Invisible Audience promises to be a fantastic, fresh take on our longstanding vision of Music for All, for Life!
